OSBORNE DOMINIO DE MALPICA 2000

The history of Bodegas Osborne Malpica in the Castilla region can be traced back to the year 2000, when one of Europe's most ambitious and most important wine making projects was started, andOsborne where the Osborne Group approached winemaking in a new way.

This approach is characterized by new innovations in vine growing techniques and the development of varieties that are in response to what the consumer on the Spanish and international markets is looking for: to be able to enjoy top class wines, with a quality/price relationship.

Bodegas Osborne Malpica has been inspired by New World Wines and focuses on the brand playing the lead role, with the guarantee of the know how of over two centuries of its parent company, Osborne.

The Osborne Malpica Estate has a surface area of over 1,000 hectares, with room for over 3,000,000 wine stocks of the varieties most suited to the soil and climate of Castilla: Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Syrah.

The Osborne Malpica wines, Solaz and Dominio de Malpica, are the only Spanish wines which, right from the start, were sent to the overseas market. In 2001, its first consumers were American and German wine drinkers.

Dominio de Malpica Vendimia Seleccionada 2000
Red wine from the Tierra de Castilla. Made only using Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Fermented at a controlled temperature, with a long maceration period. Once the second fermentation has finished, it is left for at least 12 months in American oak barrels and then aged in the bottle.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is bright cherry-red in color. The wonderful nose shows the spicy notes of Cabernet and has lovely flavors of toasted oak. Full, rich and loaded with fruit which has tight tannis at first, but will soften nicely with breathing or cellar time. Ideal match with any type of red meat, especially game or roasted fowl. Best served at 55° to 60° F.

Reg. Price: $11.99
Sale Price: 1-5 bottles $10.99 ~ 6-11 bottles $8.99 ~ 12+ bottles $7.99
